Dr. Tim Cox, Pastor

DR. TIMOTHY COX, PASTOR
Tim Cox, a native of Alabama, has served as Senior Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church since August of 1998. He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 1995 with a Doctorate of Ministry. He also has a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Mobile College. Dr. Cox has served in ministry since 1987, all of which has been within the state of Alabama.    tcox@lbcchelsea.com

My idea of a perfect day is...
Cloudy and a slow rain and mild temperature
Kids at school (Though I love each one very much)
Home snuggled up with my wife watching movies

The best advice I could give a 20 year old is... Spend time with the Master daily
Love God with your whole heart and love others as yourself

Rev. Alan Kuykendall, Interim Associate Pastor

REV. ALAN KUYKENDALL, INTERIM ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Alan Kuykendall, a native of Georgia, is serving as Interim Associate Pastor. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a board certified Pastoral Counselor by the International Board of Christian Counselors. Alan has served in ministry since 1997 in Georgia and Texas. He is also a retired Air Force officer. akuykendall@lbcchelsea.com

My idea of a perfect day is....
Up early, extended quiet time followed by a walk in the woods. Daily time with my wife and family are also very important to me

The best advice I could give a 20 year old is... “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths” (Proverbs 3:5). Actually, Proverbs 3:5-12 is excellent advice for any person!

One book to recommend…Disciplines of a Godly Man by R. Kent Hughes

My trademark cliché or saying is... “Fit as a fiddle and fine as frog hair.”

Nobody knows that I still...day dream a lot.

My life verse is... I have two life verses; Romans 10:17 and John 17:17.

REV. MIKE MAY, MINISTER OF MUSIC
Mike May, a native of Oklahoma, has served as the Minister of Music at Liberty Baptist since August of 2001. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Religious Education. My idea of a perfect day is... One with no alarm clock or deadlines to be met.

The best advice I could give a 20 year old is... Philippians 4:6 and 7 “Be anxious for nothing (spouse, career, possessions. . .), but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

My life verse is... “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matt. 6:33

My favorite vacation is...Disney or Hawaii

Rev. Leon Burdette, Minister of Education and Evangelism

REV. LEON BURDETTE, MINISTER OF EDUCATION & EVANGELISM
Leon Burdette has served as the Minister of Education & Evangelism at Liberty Baptist since February of 2009. His passion in ministry is focused on seeing people accept Christ, get connected with others, and grow to become devoted followers of Christ. Leon brings with him his lovely wife, Twila, daughter Maleah, and 3 boys, Alex, Ben, and Jackson. My idea of a perfect day is...doing something with the family, but if I am going to be alone I always enjoy fishing.

The best advice I could give a 20 year old is...enjoy life. If you think you are busy now then just wait.

REV. MATT ADAMS, STUDENT MINISTER
Matt Adams, a native of Alabama, has served as Student Minister of Liberty Baptist church since July of 2008. He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 2004 with a Master of Arts in Christian Education (Youth Education Specialization). Laura Cain, a native of Louisiana, is the Director of Children and Preteen Ministry and has served in this position since April 1995. She graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters of Religious Education. My spouse and I met at ….an associational youth weekend retreat at Twin Pines. He came as a chaperone from LBC and I was Youth Minister (yes, minister) at Indian Spring First Baptist.

My favorite hobbies are …working in the yard, playing volleyball, basketball, etc.

MRS. BECKY KING, PRESCHOOL MINISTRY
Becky King, who has lived in Chelsea since 1978, has served as Preschool Director since September 1997. In caring for our preschoolers, she has a heart for each one to learn Biblical truths and understand God's love. Her goal is that each child will understand that God has a purpose for their life and each child will grow into the person He created them to be.
