READ 10 IN 2010! PROGRAM WITH AN EMPHASIS ON READING FOR ADULTS How to Have That Difficult Conversation You’ve Been Avoiding with Your Spouse, Adult Child, Family, Boss, Coworker, Friend, Parent, or Someone You’re Dating by Henry Cloud. Such a long title, but such a helpful book! The author says, “Both the Bible and research show that confrontation is essential to success in all arenas of life.” This book shows you how to have that confrontation in a loving, rather than adversarial, way. The Power of a Man: Using Your Influence as a Man of Character by Rick Johnson. The author says, “Manhood, as defined by the Bible, requires men to put the needs and best interests of others before their own. It’s about living sacrificially.” A Positive Life: Living with HIV as a Pastor, Husband, and Father by Shane Stanford. The author acquired HIV through his treatments for hemophilia. He says, “As much as the disease has pushed and torn at me, I know myself, the world, and God’s heart better.” Prescription for Dietary Wellness: Using Foods to Heal by Phyllis Balch. Most of us eat nutritionally useless foods more often than we should. The author says, “Continuing these misguided eating habits will prevent the body from functioning normally as The Creator intended.” This book provides charts, facts, and recipes to help us deal with this problem. Friendship for Grown-ups: What I Missed & Learned Along the Way by Lisa Welchel. The author, a former actress, is now a mother, a pastor’s wife, a speaker, and a writer. She says, “Friends have been the visible manifestation to me of God’s grace.” NEW DVDs and CDs
